Isaac's 7 year old present

Tom and I have been working on building this tree house before he leaves for the whole month of July. We figured it would be nice to have it for the summer, even though Isaac's birthday isn't until August. We came up with the design ourselves (based largely on the standard sizes of lumber), and it's turned out pretty well so far, largely due to Tom's ability to turn my little crayon drawings into something that will hold together and be safe and sturdy. I've been learning a bit about the art of ladder making, and have to redo the bottom one (my first) as the mere act of moving it or shifting your weight while standing on it will cause it to collapse like a cheap tent. Still have to finish up putting half-walls on the first platform and paint it, and make the roof waterproof, but it's getting there!
